Railway PRT, TGT & PGT Syllabus 2025

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) released centralized advertisement CEN 07/2024 for recruitment of teachers for the Railway schools. RRB Teacher Recruitment is to select 736 candidates for Primary Teacher, Trained Graduate Teacher, Post Graduate Teacher & Music Teacher posts.   • The duration of the Test is 90 minutes
  • The test will be online on the computer.
  • 1/3 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Category Wise Cut Off Marks are UR-40%, EWS-40%, OBC-30%, SC-30% and ST-25%.

Railway Teacher Performance Test / Teaching Skill Test Details

Apart from the CBT of 100 marks, teachers will be subjected to Performance Test (PT) and Teaching Skill Test (TST).

  • For the Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs), Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs), Physical Training Instructor (PTI) and Primary Teachers / Assistant Teacher/ Junior School (PRTs) the selection shall be done on the basis of Written Test (CBT) and Teaching Skill Test in the ratio of 85:15.
  • For the post of Music Teacher, Trained Graduate Teacher/Music, Trained Graduate Teacher/Craft , Trained Graduate Teacher/Drawing, the weightage of Written Test (CBT), Performance Test and Skill Test will be in the ratio of 60:25:15 respectively.

RRB Teacher Teaching Skill Test Scheme

The Teaching Skill Test shall be based on Teaching Ability, Teaching Methodology, Content Expertise,
Appropriateness of material, Incorporation of recent development in the discipline, Communication skill, Presentation Skill, Classroom Management Skill, understanding of Subject Matter, Problem Solving ability, Decision making, Creativity, Leadership & Motivation Quality.

For PTI, PRT, TGT, PGT, Music Teacher, TGT-Music, TGT -Craft & TGT-DrawingCandidates will be asked to teach some topics of their subject through power point presentation in front of the Committee. Topics will be decided by the Committee on the spot. Candidates will be given sufficient time to prepare and will be asked to use PowerPoint presentation or any other teaching aid as per the availability of equipment at the point of skill Test.
a) The Skill Test shall range between 15 to 30 minutes as decided by the Committee.
b) Skill Test will be of 150 marks.
c) There will not be any minimum qualifying marks for Skill Test.
d) However, weightage of Skill test shall be be 15% in total marks.

For Trained Graduate Teacher – Craft, Trained Graduate Teacher – DrawingPerformance may be adjudged on performance of art forms/ paintings/ sketches/ crafts, innovative and creative approach, Aesthetic sensibilities, Observation skill, interpretation and Originality, Correlation with real life, Experimentation with different art Modes and mediums, Proportion in size and clarity and importance of colour, balance and brightness.
a) The Topics will be decided by the Committee on the spot.
b) Candidates will be given sufficient time to prepare and will be asked to use any teaching aid as per the availability of equipment’s at the place of Performance Test.
c) Performance Test shall be of 100 marks.
d) There will not be any minimum qualifying marks for the Performance Test.
e) However, weightage of Performance Test shall be 25% of the total marks.

Are they going to have a separate exam for subject related questions like DSSSB does or they have some other method. Kindly guide me for that as well
