Andhra Pradesh TET 2024 Notification

Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh is going to conduct the Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test APTETJuly- 2024 in all Districts of the State through a Computer Based Test. AP TET 2024 Examination Details

Andhra Pradesh TET is conducted for issuing the eligibility certificate to the candidates waiting to become school teacher from Class I to VIII. The candidate who intends to be teachers for Classes I to V have to appear for Paper-1A and the candidates intending to be teachers for Classes VI to VIII have to appear for Paper-2A. The candidate who intends to be teachers for Classes I to V in Special Education Schools have to appear for the examination under Paper -1B and the candidates who intends to be teachers for Classes from VI to VIII have to appear for paper-2B in respect of Special Education Schools.

The candidates who are having both D.El.Ed. and B.Ed. qualifications, intends to be teachers for all Classes from I to VIII are only eligible to appear for all papers, i.e. Paper-1A , Paper-1B, Paper-2A and Paper-2B as per requisite qualifications.

AP TET 2024  – Educational Qualifications

The candidate at the time of applying for APTET- JULY-2024 should be having the minimum qualifications prescribed for Paper – 1A, for Classes I to V, Paper- 1B for Classes I to V in respect of Special Education Teachers. Paper-2A for classes VI to VIII and Paper-2B for classes VI to VIII in respect of Special Education Teachers as given below

Minimum Qualifications for Paper-1A – Classes I to V in regular Schools
  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) (or)
  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition norms and procedure), Regulations, 2002 (Note: This will applicable for the candidates who possess qualification in between 2002 to 2011) (or)
  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) (or)
  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2 year Diploma in Education (Special Education) (or)
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and two year diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

Note 1:- Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks allowed to the SC/ST/BC/PH candidates.

Minimum Qualifications for Paper-1 B (Classes I to V in Special Schools)
  • Intermediate/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and Two year D.Ed. Special Education in any of the category of disability (or)
  • One year Diploma in Special Education (DSE) in any of the category of disability. (or)
  • Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (DCBR) with 06 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs. (or)
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (PGDCBR) with 06 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs. (Or)
  • Diploma in Multi Rehabilitation Worker (MRW) with 06 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs. (Or)
  • Junior Diploma in Teaching the Deaf. (Or)
  • Primary level Teacher Training Course in Visual Impairment. (Or)
  • Diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation – Mental Retardation (DVR-MR) / Diploma in Vocational Training and Employment – Mental Retardation (DVTE-MR) with 06 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs. (Or)
  • Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech (DHLS) with 06 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs. (Or)
  • Intermediate/ Senior Secondary passed with any RCI recognized qualification of minimum one year duration and 06 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs. (Or)
  • Any other equivalent qualification approved by RCI
Minimum Qualifications for TET Paper- 2A (Classes VI-VIII): Mathematics Teachers / Physical Science Teachers/ Biological Science/ Social Studies Teachers/Language Teachers
  • At least 50% marks either in Graduation (or) in Post-Graduation with Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). (or)
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and 1 year Bachelor of Education in accordance with the NCTE recognition norms and procedure Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. (or)
  • Intermediate/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed) (or)
  • Intermediate/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year integrated B.A./B.Sc. or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. (or)
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1 year B.Ed (Special Education) (or)
  • Post-Graduation with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade and three year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed .

Note 1:- Minimum percentage of marks in graduation shall not be applicable to those incumbents who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or equivalent course prior to the 29th July, 2011.

Note 2:- The minimum qualifying marks in Graduation as 40% marks for SC/ST/BC/ PH candidates to appear for Paper-II-A in APTET-JULY 2024.

Language Teachers (Classes VI to VIII):
  • Graduation with Language concerned as one of the Optional Subjects (or) Bachelor of Oriental Language (or its equivalent) (or) Graduation in Literature (or) Post Graduation in Language concerned and Language Pandit Training Certificate/ B.Ed. with Language concerned as one of the Methodologies, in respect of Language Teachers.
Minimum Qualifications for TET Paper- 2B (Classes VI-VIII in Special Schools):
  • At least 50% marks either in Graduation (or) in Post-Graduation with B.Ed.(Special Education (Or)
  • B.Ed.(General) with one year Diploma in Special Education. (Or)
  • B.Ed. (General) with two years Diploma in Special Education. (Or)
  • B.Ed.(General) with Post Graduate Professional Diploma in Special Education (PGPD). (Or)
  • B.Ed. Special Education and Post Graduate Professional Certificate in Special Education (PGPC).(Or)
  • PG Diploma in Special Education (Mental Retardation). (Or)
  • PG Diploma in Special Education (Multiple Disability : Physical & Neurological). (Or)
  • PG Diploma in Special Education (Loco motor Impairment and Cerebral Palsy). (Or)
  • Secondary level Teacher Training Course in Visual Impairment. (Or)
  • Senior Diploma in Teaching the Deaf. (Or)
  • BA B.Ed. in Visual impairment. (Or)
  • Any other equivalent qualification approved by RCI.

Note: The candidates, those who will complete final semester of Diploma in Elementary Education (or) Bachelor of Education (or) D.Ed. in Special Education or its equivalent (or) B.Ed. in Special Education or its equivalent etc., are also eligible to appear for TET exam subject to the condition that the candidates cannot appear for Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) with this TET certificate, unless the candidates acquire requisite qualification.

AP TET Notification 2024 – Exam Scheme Details

Candidates, check the details mentioned below regarding AP TET Examination Pattern 2024. The structure and content of the Andhra Pradesh TET is given in the following paragraphs. Aspirants can thus make a complete preparation using the information available here. As per the APTET Notification 2024, all of the questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying One Mark, with four alternatives out of which One Answer will be correct. There will be no Negative Marking.

There will be Two Papers for the Andhra Pradesh TET. Paper-1 will be for a candidate who intends to be a teacher for Classes I to V, Paper-2 will be for a candidate who intends to be a teacher for Classes VI to VIII. Those candidates who have both D.El.Ed and B.Ed qualifications for Paper-1 and Paper-2 intends to be a Teacher either for Classes I to V or for Classes VI to VIII are only eligible to appear in both Papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2). Andhra Pradesh TET 2024 – Passing Criteria

Andhra Pradesh TET as we know is an teacher eligibility test qualifying which is mandatory to apply for Andhra Pradesh TRT or Teacher Recruitment Test. The criteria for considering pass in AP TET are as follows:

AP TET Certificate Validity

Candidates who qualifies the Andhra Pradesh TET will be awarded APTET Pass Certificate. As per the latest Govt of AP guidelines, the AP TET Certificate validity will be lifetime. However, there is no restriction on the number of attempts and a candidate attend any number of times for acquiring APTET Certificate.

Andhra Pradesh TET Weightage in AP Teacher Recruitment

Qualifying in the APTET does not confer a right for recruitment/ employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for Teacher appointment in Andhra Pradesh. As per the existing rules of Teacher Recruitment of the State Government, 20% Weightage to APTET scores shall be givwn while in the Written Test in Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) shall carry weightage of 80%, based on which selection lists shall be prepared.
