CSIR-UGC NET Notification
CSIR NET is an eligibility test that is conducted to determine the eligibility of a candidate for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship (LS) /Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges. As per the official notification, the CSIR NET is conducted for 5 Science Subjects only: Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Earth Sciences. This exam is conducted twice and CSIR NET Dec 2024 application process began on 9th December 2024.

CSIR NET Eligibility Conditions
The CSIR NET Eligibility Conditions ensure that only candidates who have the necessary educational qualifications and meet other requirements are allowed to appear for the exam. Interested candidates must be familiar with the CSIR NET eligibility, which specifies the educational qualification, age limit, and number of attempts.

Educational Qualification
- General (UR), General-EWS, and OBC candidates must possess an M.Sc. or an equivalent degree, an integrated BS-MS, a BS-4-year degree, a BE, a B.Tech, a B. Pharma, or an MBBS with at least 55% marks.
- Candidates from the SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories must receive at least 50% in their M.Sc. or comparable degree, Integrated BS-MS, BS-4 years, BE, B. Tech, B. Pharma, or MBBS, or an equivalent degree.
- Candidates with a B.Sc. (Hons.) or an equivalent degree who are currently enrolled in an integrated MS-Ph.D. program and have. received a minimum of 55% of their marks for General students (and 50% of their marks for SC, ST, and PWD candidates) are also eligible to take the CSIR NET exam.
- If a bachelor’s degree holder enrolls in a Ph.D. or integrated Ph.D. program within two years, they are eligible for the fellowship.

How to apply for CSIR NET 2025?
The Application Process for CSIR NET 2025 involves three process – Registration, Fill the Online Application and Finally paying the application fee. In the first phase, the interested candidates should complete the registration at the official website which will be required for the subsequent stages compulsorily. Stage Wise application process is as follows –
Registration Process | 1. At first visit the official website of NTA CSIR NET @ https://csirnet.nta.ac.in/. 2. Click on Registration Link. 3. Enter the basic details like email registration ID, mobile number etc. 4. Finally, submit the application. 5. The candidate will get the Registration ID and Password. |
Filling the Application Form | 1. In this phase, login to the portal with the registration. 2. Fill up the details like education, communication address, subjects, preferred exam city etc. 3. Also upload the scanned images of photograph & signature. 4. Recheck the details and submit the application. 5. Candidates will get the confirmation of application submission. |
Payment of Application Fees | 1. Navigate to the application fees section. 2. Select the category wise payment option. 3. Pay the application fees through the mode as per the preference. 4. Finally, wait for the confirmation. 5. Thus, the CSIR NET Application form submission is complete. |

The CSIR UGC NET will consist of three parts. All the parts will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions. There will be no break between papers. The subject-wise scheme of examination is as per details below:
- The MCQ test paper of each subject shall carry a maximum of 200 marks.
- The exam shall be for duration of three hours.
- The question paper shall have three parts.
