RRB JE Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
RRB JE Recruitment 2024 Selection Process comprises of the following stages. The selection of the eligible applicants for RRB Junior Engineer Vacancy 2024 will be as per the notified selection process. The entire recruitment process shall involve –
- 1st stage Computer Based Test (CBT) / CBT 1
- 2nd stage CBT / CBT 2, and
- Document Verification/ Medical Examination as applicable.
RRB Junior Engineer CBT 1 is of screening nature and the score of 1st stage exam shall be used only for short listing of candidates for CBT 2 exam as per their merit. Thereafter, the candidates will be called for Document Verification on the basis of marks obtained by them in 2nd Stage CBT/ CBT 2. Post the DV, RRB will declare the JE Selection List according to the merit, and shall also declare a reserve list of the candidates.

- A total of 100 objective type questions will be given in RRB JE CBT 1 exam, where candidates need to answer these questions in 90 minutes.
- While in CBT 2 exam, 100 questions from technical ability section and 50 questions from other sections (refer table) to be given for a total of 150 marks.
- For each wrong answer, a candidate will lose 1/3rd of marks from the final score in both the RRB JE CBT 1 and 2 exams.
- Technical ability section exam pattern is same for all engineering streams but the syllabus is entirely different from one post to another.

The RRB JE syllabus for CBT 2 exam comprises different sections such as Basics of Computer and Applications, Technical Abilities, Physics and Chemistry, General Awareness, Environment and Pollution Control. The syllabus for General Awareness, Physics and Chemistry, Basics of Computers and Applications, Basics of Environment and Pollution Control is common for all notified posts under this CEN as detailed below: –
- a) General Awareness: Knowledge of Current affairs, Indian geography, culture and history of India including freedom struggle, Indian Polity and Constitution, Indian Economy, Environmental issues concerning India and the World, Sports, General Scientific and Technological Developments etc.

- c) Basics of Computers and Applications: Architecture of Computers; input and Output devices; Storage devices, Networking, Operating System like Windows, Unix, Linux; MS Office; Various data representation; Internet and Email; Websites & Web Browsers; Computer Virus.
