TNPSC CTS Tamil Language Test Syllabus – Paper I (Part A)
The Tamil Language Test is a mandatory subject for both the Interview and Non-Interview Posts. The Test will have questions on the Tamil language proficiency of SSLC Standards. Actually, the test will be the Part A of the Paper I with 100 questions on the following topics –

TNPSC CTS Exam Pattern 2025

- The Exam Mode of Interview posts will be Computer Based Test (CBT).
- In respect of Non-Interview posts, the Paper I will be OMR based examination while the Paper II will be CBT except the Translator and ASO (Translation) posts for which the Paper II Translation will be descriptive in nature.
- The Tamil Eligibility Test part will have a Minimum Qualifying Marks of 60 for all categories.
- The Minimum Qualifying Marks in the total of Part B & C of Paper I and Paper II are as under –
- 135 marks for SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC (OBCM)s and BCMs and 180 marks for others in the Interview category vacancies.
- 75 marks for SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC (OBCM)s and BCMs and 100 marks for others in the Non-Interview category vacancies for the posts of Translator.
- 135 marks for SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC (OBCM)s and BCMs and 180 marks for others in the Interview category vacancies for the posts other than above.
