WBJEE 2026 Rank & Merit List Determination
Based on the papers (subjects) appeared in the WBJEE-2026 followed by marks scored there-of, two separate Merit Rank Lists shall be published by the Board as per the following details:
A. WBJEE Result – General Merit Rank (GMR)
- The General Merit Rank list prepared based on the total score obtained in paper-I and paper-II.
- GMR shall be applicable for admission to all Engineering / Technology / Architecture Courses and the Pharmacy Course in Jadavpur University.
- Ranking shall be done in the descending order of total marks scored in all the subjects. In case of ties, tie-breaking rules as given in 2.9 shall be applicable.
- Counselling and admission will be done on the basis of GMR only.
- Separate reserved category merit position will also be indicated for information for the respective category of students e.g. SC Rank, ST Rank, OBC-A Rank, OBC-B Rank, PwD Rank, TFW Rank. But category ranks are prepared only for sequencing the deserving candidates within the respective category.
B. WBJEE 2026 Result – Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR)
- This list shall be prepared based on the score in paper-II only.
- PMR shall be applicable for admission to all Pharmacy Courses except in Jadavpur University.
- Ranking shall be in the descending order of marks scored in paper-II. In case of ties, tie-breaking rules are applicable.
- Counselling and admission will be strictly on the basis of PMR only.
- Separate reserved category merit position also indicated for information for the respective category of students e.g. SC Rank, ST Rank, OBC-A Rank, OBC-B Rank, PwD Rank, TFW Rank. But category ranks are considerable only for sequencing the deserving candidates within the respective category.
C. WBJEE Results – Papers and Ranks
- Candidates appearing in both paper-I and paper-II will secure both GMR and PMR if scored above the cut off mark.
- Candidates appearing only in paper-II will have PMR only if scored above the cut off mark.
- The Candidates appearing only in paper-I will not get any rank

After application of the Tie-breaking Rules as applicable, if there be still ties, the date of birth (DOB) of the candidates considered, with the older candidate having preference over the younger one.
