WB Judicial Service (WBJS) Exam Notification 2025
West Bengal Public Service Commission brings out the WBJS Exam Notification to fill up the vacant posts of Civil Judge across the country. This is a golden opportunity for the law graduate as on clearing the WBPSC Judicial Service Examination, they shall be posted as Judge (Junior Division). The WBPSC Judicial Service Examination, 2025 is a three tier examination and the candidates who clear these stages can make it into the final selection list.
In two separate notification, the West Bengal PSC released the 19/2023 – WBPSC Judicial Service Examination 2023 and 9/2024 – WBPSC Judicial Service Examination 2024. Actually, the Commission will hold the West Bengal Judicial Service Examination, 2023 & 2024 in accordance with the existing rules for recruitment to the posts in West Bengal Judicial Service. WBJS Notification 2025 Eligibility Criteria
The aspirants who want to appear for the WPSC Judicial Exam 2025 must fulfill the eligibility condition as per the notification. Aspirants without possessing the required eligibility cannot apply for the WBJS Exam 2025. The details of the eligibility conditions are as follows –
WBJS Examination Required Qualification
- Candidates must be a citizen of India.
- A degree in law from any university or institute.
- Enrolment as an advocate in the roll of Bar Council of any State or Union territory in India on the date advertised for the examination.
- Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (Not required for those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali)
Age Limit for WB Judicial Service Exam
The minimum age of the candidate should not less than 23 years and should not more than 35 years. The Age Limit Cut Off date is 28.12.2023 for WBJS 2023 while it is 07.12.2024 for WBJS 2024. The Relaxation of age according to the categories is as under :-

WB Judicial Services Exam Scheme 2025
The WBJS Examination, 2023 and 2024 will be held in three successive stages as per the notification. Candidates at the first stage shall have to appear for a Prelims Examination followed by a Mains / Final Examination and an Interview or Personality Test.
- Preliminary Examination (MCQ Type) – 200 marks
- Final Examination (Conventional Type – Written) – 1100 marks; and
- Personality Test – 100 marks
A number of candidates on the basis of Preliminary Examination result will be eligible to appear for the Final Examination. Thereafter, a number of candidates on the basis of results of the Final Examination will be eligible to appear at the Personality Test. The West Bengal Judicial Services Final examination will consist of eight (08) compulsory papers and three (03)

WB Judicial Services Interview / Personality Test Details
The shortlisted candidates in the Final Examination will have to appear for the Interview or Personality Test.
