Assam TET 2024 Notification
Assam Sarba Siksha Abhijan Mission ( ASSAM ), Assam conducts this popular Exam to select the Govt. School Teacher at various level for the Govt. aided Schools in Assam. Actually, Assam TET is similar to an Entrance Test and candidates who qualify it shall be eligible to apply for Govt. School Teacher vacancies.
Assam TET qualified candidates can apply for the huge teacher vacancy that are made available by the Assam Government. Since the Last Assam TET was organized in the year 2021 and then a total of 30000 vacancies was available for the candidates. However, on the release of the Official Notice, we shall surely update the total and also the subject wise vacancy for all of the interested candidates.

Zones of Assam Teacher Eligibility Test 2024
Districts in Assam State have been grouped into several zones and a candidate has to select his preferred Zone while applying for the TET. After qualifying in TET, he or she will get preference for engagement as a teacher in his preferred Zone in accordance with the Government Notification. So the list of Zones to Apply are-

Assam TET 2024 Eligibility Criteria Details
Here in this section, we shall be covering the eligibility criteria of Assam TET. Now as we know that Assam Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted for Lower Primary & Upper Primary Teacher Posts. So the candidates who want to appear for Lower Primary Teacher need to appear for Paper 1 and those who want to appear for Upper Primary School Teacher need to appear for Paper 2 as per the notification.
Required Educational Qualification
| Paper 1: For Lower Primary Teacher ( I to V) | a) Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.E1.Ed) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR Graduation and two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)obtained from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in class I to V, provided the person so appointed as teacher will have to mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of such appointment as primary teacher. b) However, a candidate who is pursuing and having Admit Card of final year examination of any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCl, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Guideline dated 11th February, 2011, may also apply for TET. However he/she can apply for appointment only after acquiring all the required qualification. |
| Paper 2: For Upper Primary Teacher (VI to VIII) | a) Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR At least 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post Graduation and B. Ed OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed). OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./8. Sc. Ed. Or B.A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed. OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B. Ed.(Special Education) Note: Minimum percentage of marks in graduation shall not be applicable to those incumbents who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or equivalent course prior to the 29th July, 2011. b) However, a person who is pursuing and having Admit Card of final year Examination of any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCl, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Guidelines dated 11th February, 2011, may also apply for TET. Age Limit to Apply
To Apply for both LP and UP Teacher Posts, interested candidates should be 18 Years and above. However, there is no upper age limit to apply for Assam TET 2024.
Assam TET Exam Pattern 2024

Assam TET Qualifying Marks
A candidate should score 60 % i.e. 90 marks out of 150 to qualify the Assam Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET). However, for SC/ST (Hills) /ST (Plain) /OBC / MOBC / PWD (PH), there will be relaxation of 5 %. Thus, for these candidates, qualifying marks will be 83 out of 150 i.e. 55 %.
