Punjab State TET 2026 Notification Released
Punjab State TET 2026 Notification is out now. This brings a good news for the aspirants of the school teacher jobs. The PSTET 2026 for the information of the candidates is an eligibility test which every aspirants need to clear in order to be eligible for applying for school teacher jobs in Punjab. As per the NCTE Guidelines, the candidates who have the PSTET score as the eligibility can apply for school teacher jobs both for Government and Private Schools in Punjab.
Now, as per the PSTET 2024 Official Notification, the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted to determine the eligibility for candidates who want to be the school teacher for Class I to V (Paper 1) and for Class VI to VIII (Paper 2). However, if a candidate is eligible to register for both the paper (Paper 1 & 2), he/she can register and appear for both the test. A brief of the notification is available below.

PSTET 2026 Registration – Eligibility Criteria
Now as discussed above, that the PSTET is conducted for two level – Class I to V through Paper 1 and Class VI to VIII through Paper 2 respectively. Therefore the eligibility varies according to the examination level. Candidates can note down the details of the eligibility according to the Papers below and apply for registration according to that.
Educational Qualification for PSTET Paper 1
- Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE.
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
- Candidates who possess “Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)” are now eligible for becoming Teachers for Classes I-V: Primary Stage. Such Candidates have mandatory to undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of such appointment as a primary teacher.
Educational Qualification for PSTET Paper 2
- Graduation and passing or appearing in the final year of 2- a year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and passing or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), per the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
- Any candidate having a qualified B.Ed Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in the TET exam.
Age Limit Criteria for PSTET 2026
Candidates may kindly note that there is no upper age limit to register and appear for PSTET. However, the upper age limit is applicable only in the case of recruitment of primary and upper primary teacher as announced by the recruitment authority.
