TNPSC Group 2 Cut Offs 2024
The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has the responsibility to select the candidates for the group 2 services in the state. In this regard, the commission sets a minimum cut off to shortlist the candidates for the next phase of selection. Aspirants who took the test must score equal or more than the specified cut offs to get shortlisted for the next phase.

- There will be a Preliminary Examination for selection of candidates for admission to the Main Written Examination
- Based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the Paper II of Main Examination for Group 2 Services, rank list will be published. The candidates will be admitted to the Onscreen Certificate Verification in the ratio of 1:3 and 1:2 for General Turn category and all Reserved categories respectively. The candidates who have opted for the post of Forester will be admitted for Physical Standard Verification and Endurance Test in the ratio of 1:5. Based on the Onscreen Certificate verification, Physical Standards Verification and Endurance Test (for the post of Forester only), the candidates will be admitted to Physical Certificate Verification and Counseling in the ratio of 1:3 and 1:1.5 for General Turn category and all Reserved categories respectively. Candidates will be allowed to participate in the counseling based on his / her rank.
For Group 2A Services
- Preliminary Examination for selection of candidates for admission to the Main Written Examination.
- Based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the Main Examination for Group IIA Services, rank list will be published. The candidates will be admitted for all the posts to the Onscreen Certificate Verification in the ratio of 1:3 and 1:2 for General Turn Category and all Reserved categories respectively. Based on the Onscreen certificate verification, the candidates will be admitted to Physical Certificate Verification, in the ratio of 1:3 and 1:1.5 for General Turn category and all Reserved categories respectively. Candidates will be allowed to participate in the counselling based on his / her rank.
TNPSC Group 2 Prelims Result 2024 Importance
The Preliminary Examination is meant to serve as a screening test only. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Written Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit. The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Written Examination will be 10 times the number of candidates to be recruited having regard to the rule of reservation of appointments.
However, in each reservation group, all the candidates who secure the same marks as that of cut off marks of their reservation groups shall also be admitted to the Main Written Examination, though the number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Written Examination may exceed 1:10 ratio.
