NTA CUET UG Marking Scheme Overview
Candidates searching for the CUET UG Results 2025 must know the marking scheme of this entrance test. Here is an overview shared for the exam participants.
- Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Five marks (+5)
- Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
- Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).
- If more than one option is found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
- If all options are found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
- If none of the options is found correct, or a question is found to be wrong, or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given five marks (+5) marks.

CUET UG Result 2025 – Normalisation Process
NTA has conducted the CUET (UG) 2025 in different shifts across the country. Since the question papers for any subject in different shifts are different and the difficulty level of these question papers in different sessions may not be the same or similar. Some of the candidates might have ended up attempting a relatively tougher set of questions when compared to other sets. The candidates who attempted the comparatively tougher examination are likely to get lower marks as compared to those who attempted the easier one.
Thus, NTA in order to bring uniformity in the CUET UG score has adopted the Normalisation method. In this process, National Testing Agency will normalise the raw score of each candidate in each subject using the Equi-percentile method. This is done separately for each subject for which the examination is held in multiple shifts. The process has three stages as follows –
- Convert Raw Scores into Percentile Scores.
- Pull the percentiles to the marks scale for each session to get a Normalised Score.
- Calculation of the Normalised Score.

CUET UG Merit List 2025
For the last confirmation of the admission in different undergraduate programs, the respective college or university will deliver the CUET UG Merit List 2025. Actually, for admission to the different programmes in the college, the candidates need to submit the admission form. Thereafter, considering the seat capacity, seat reservation status and on the basis of CUET UG Score Card 2025, the college or university releases the merit list. The merit list will comprise the names of the candidates who are found eligible for admission. Furthermore, the candidates shortlisted in the merit list will be able to complete the counselling and other admission formalities.
