Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Admit Card 2025
GATE is a highly competitive national level entrance examination. Every Year, Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in India organizes Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering on a rotational Basis. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc, Bangalore) and seven IIT’s at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee administrates the GATE Exam jointly. Through GATE Exam, the candidates can be offered admission into PG courses and doctoral (PhD) programmes in IIT’s, IISc, IISERs and all reputed Institutions.
For the year 2025, IIT Roorkee shall conduct the GATE on 1st, 2nd, 15th & 16th February 2025. The Test is conducted online through Computer Based Test mode. Therefore to participate in the online test, every applicants should download the admit card as the admit card will not be available by post.

- At first, visit the official website of IIT Roorkee GATE @ gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

- A new page will open on the screen.

- Finally, Print the Admit Card on an A4 sized paper using a laser printer, preferably in colour.

Items not permitted at GATE Exam Centre
Candidates may note that they are not allowed to carry personal calculators, any type of watches, wallets, mobile phones, bluetooth devices or any electronic/ communication devices inside the examination hall. Further more, they must not bring any books/ charts/ tables/ loose sheets/ papers/ data or handbooks/ pouch or box into the examination hall and candidates found in possession of such devices will be disqualified regardless of whether they use them or not.
GATE 2025 Exam Date & Admit Card Schedule
GATE 2025 Exam Date and Admit Card is a crucial information for the aspirants. Actually, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) is going to conduct the GATE 2025 exam on 5 days across the country. As per the GATE 2025 Notification, the exam will be held on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. Furthermore, the GATE 2025 exam will be held in two shifts each day with forenoon session from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm (IST) and afternoon shift from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm respectively.

Importance of Identity Proof with GATE Admit Card 2025
Candidates must bring a print-out of the downloaded Admit Card on A4 sized paper to the Examination
for the verification along with the original and valid photo Identity Document. Both, the IIT GATE Admit Card and
Original ID proof are essential for entry into the examination hall. Actually, candidates will NOT be permitted to take the examination, in case the admit card and the same valid original photo identification document are NOT presented during the examination. The identity proof can be any one of the following –
- Aadhaar-UID (preferable)
- Aadhaar Virtual ID
- Government issued ID
- Passport
- PAN Card

Brief of GATE 2025 Exam Scheme
GATE 2025 test papers contain three types of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs); Multiple Select Questions (MSQs); and Numerical Answer Type (NAT). The Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) will carry 1 or 2 marks each, in all the papers and sections. These questions are objective in nature, and each will have choice of four answers, out of which ONLY ONE choice is correct. Furthermore, there will be negative marking for a wrong chosen answer in MCQ. For 1-mark MCQ, 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. Likewise, for 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
