TG SET Notification 2026: Telangana State Eligibility Test 2026 Notification is available on 1st August 2026. Actually, as per the TG SET 2026 Notification on behalf of the Telangana State, Osmania University will conduct the TG-SET, 2026 or TS SET 2026 Examination for Eligibility as Assistant Professor / Lecturer from 28th to 30th September, 2026. The Exam Authority shall conduct the Telangana SET in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. In this regard, the online application form is available to the candidates from 3rd August 2026. Interested candidates who desire to appear for the Telangana SET 2026 must register within the closing date of 30th July 2026.

Telangana SET 2026 Notification Released
The TG SET 2026 is to be conducted by Osmania University to determine the Eligibility for Assistant
Professor & Lecturer in Telangana Universities and Colleges. Actually as per the recruitment rules of Assistant Professor & Lecturer in Telangana Universities and Colleges, the applicants must possess the TG -SET Pass Certificate. So, the Telangana State Government conducts the TG-SET examination. As per the official notification, the Telangana SET will be conducted in General Studies and 29 subjects in CBT mode in 10 old districts of Telangana.
Eligibility to apply for TG SET 2026
The interested candidates who desires to apply and appear for the Telangana SET 2024 must possess the eligiblity as per TG SET Notification. The age limit and also the educational qualification is available in this section for the aspirants.
Age Limit to Apply
- There is No age limit to apply for TG-SET examination
Educational Qualification
- General/Unreserved/General-EWS candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree (i.e., M.A., M.Sc., M.Com, MBA, MLISC, M.Ed., M.PEd., MCJ, LLM, MCA and M.Tech (CSE & IT only)) or equivalent examination are eligible to apply. However, in case of the Backward Classes (BC)/Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Persons with Disability (PwD)/ category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree is eligible for this Test.
- The candidates who are pursuing their Master’s Degree course or the candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s Degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for eligibility for Assistant Professor / Lecturer after they have passed their Master’s Degree examination with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of BC/SC/ST/PwD (Persons with Disability) category candidates. Such candidates must complete their Master’s Degree examination within two years from the date of SET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
- Candidates belonging to third gender, in other words, transgender would be eligible to draw the same relaxation in fee, age and qualifying criteria for TG-SET examination as are available to SC/ST/ PwD categories.
- The Ph.D. Degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19 th September 1991(irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.
TS SET 2024 Examination Fee
The candidates may pay the examination fee either by Credit Card / Debit Card/UPI/Net Banking. Furthermore, the candidates need to pay additional processing charges as applicable in this regard.

TG SET 2026 Apply Online @ telanganaset.org
The Telangana SET 2026 Notification is released on 1st August 2026. Thus, the candidate registering for the (TG-SET 2026) must apply online only on the TG-SET website: ( www.telanganaset.org). However, before applying Online, the candidates must possess the scanned images as below:
- Passport size photograph in JPG format of minimum 20 kb to 40 kb. The dimension of the photograph should be 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height).
- Signature in JPG format of minimum 5kb to 20 kb. The dimension of the signature should be 3.5 cm (width) x 1.5 cm (height).
- Caste Certificate in JPG format of minimum 50 kb to 300 kb.

TG SET Examination Scheme
The TG SET or Telangana SET will consist of two papers and will be conducted in CBT Mode. Both the papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held in 3 Hours of duration in one session as under –

- Paper – I shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks. The questions which will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, Comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
- Paper – II shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate.
Telangana SET 2026 Qualifying Criteria
Candidates will be declared to have qualified the TG SET or in order to be considered for ‘Eligibility for Assistant Professor/ Lecturer’, the candidate must have appeared in both the papers in TG -SET and have secured at least the following marks –
- At least 40% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for General (Unreserved) category candidates and;
- At least 35% aggregate marks in boththe papers taken together for all candidates belonging to the reserved categories (viz., SC, ST, BC, & PwD) and Transgender.
